Training Course on Migrants' Rights for Law Enforcement Authorities

Under the EU funded project “Enhanced Cooperation for Secure borders and Safe Migration” IOM arranged for officials from the Human Rights Protection and Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Migration Department of the MIA, Border Police, Patrol Police and Criminal Police to attend a two day training course on Migrants’ Rights. Drawing on international best practice and using examples where migrants’ rights were at risk, officials were able to refine their existing expertise as well as considering Migrants’ Rights in the context of the recently introduced Law of Georgia on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons.
