Job Counseling and Placement Project
Job Counseling and Placement Centre
This project will contribute to the development objectives of the Government of Georgia’s priorities to maintain stability, foster economic recovery, reduce unemployment and generate income for its citizens. It aims to assist old and new IDPs as well as the unemployed in Georgia through job counseling, referral and placement as well as targeted vocational training and small business development.
Specifically, IOM will focus on job placement through expansion of IOM’s existing Job Counceling and Placement Centers (JCPCs) in Tbilisi and Batumi as well as establishment of new JCPCs in Poti, Gori, Kutaisi, Telavi, and Akhaltsikhe.
IOM will also implement livelihood support initiatives at the community level through needs based vocational skills training and start up business grants. During its economic empowerment program, IOM will also undertake several labor market surveys in order to ensure effectiveness of the program and flexibility to adapt to changing labor market needs.
It is expected that through the support provided by the project, beneficiaries and their immediate household members will benefit from employment opportunities and their standard of living will improve. Furthermore, economic empowerment of beneficiaries will also lead to raised levels of self-esteem and social inclusion.
